Who Am I

Welcome to Curiosity Saves Travel, owned and managed by Susanna Shankar, based in Vancouver, Canada

Curiosity Saves Travel, found at https://curiositysavestrave.com is governed by the following privacy policy. This Privacy Policy aims to inform you about what personally identifiable information the site may collect and how it may be used. This statement only applies to this Website.

Curiosity Saves Tavel respects your personal space and privacy; as someone who doesn’t even like to receive hugs, I understand how frustrating it is to have your personal space and data violated. I will always respect your privacy and strive to be open and honest about the data I do collect and listen to you if you want me to remove your data.

I promise never to buy, sell, or trade your data with anyone. Any data you leave on this site will only be shared with my third-party processors and collectors.

Your data will only be stored for as long as needed and removed upon request.

You can and have the right to browse curiosiotysavestravel.com without providing personal information, such as your name and email.

You should only enter the information you are comfortable using to improve your experience on our site. This site will never collect personal data you from outside sources, such as public records.

By using this site, you agree to the information we collect, how it is shared, and the use of your data by our third parties.

This website and certain posts may be monetized. I  may be compensated by companies through advertising, paid work, sponsorships, and other means. I strive to ensure 3rd party companies I work with respect your privacy as much as I do; however, you should always check the individual policies of the companies I work with and promote.

I only work with companies I trust, use, value, and align with my mission statement.

I promise to always disclose on the individual pages where sponsorships or paid campaigns have taken place. Please note that by viewing these sponsored pages and posts, you are under no obligation to purchase products or book tours recommended by me to continue using my site. But I think I do a pretty good job weeding through shitty companies, and I hope that if you choose to purchase something I recommend, you will do so using my affiliate link at no additional cost to you, if and only if you like the company and their products.

Monumetric: I monetize through hosting ads provided by Monumetric. Read their T&C.

GetYourGuide: I recommend GetYourGuide for various tours and attractions. You can read their Privacy Policy here.

Viator: I recommend Viator for various tours and attractions. Read their policy.

SiteGround: This is the hosting platform for my website. Read about their T&C.

AvantLink: I suggest products such as Patagonia and REI through an aggregator called Avant. Read their privacy policy.

Mailer Lite: Upon subscribing to my newsletter, you are consenting to allow your information to be stored with Mailer Lite for email campaigns. Read their privacy policy.

Third-Party Use of Information

Curiosity Saves Travel shares information and uses the following third-party companies:

Google Analytics. This site has authorized Google Analytics to track my traffic and website statistics. They may receive anonymous aggregated information such as your location, how you landed on our site, links clicked, you long you stayed on our site, and other statistics.

SiteGround. SiteGround is my hosting platform. They may receive your IP address, cookie information, and any data they need to ensure our website is visible and running to the public.

Social Warfare. Social Warfare is the company I use so you can share your favorite posts and articles. They collect data on what social media platforms you share our posts and the device used, what time it was shared, where it was shared, or how it was shared.

Akismet. Collects information about visitors who comment on my site through my anti-spam service. Information collected typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

How long do we retain your data

Much of the data this site collects is sent to be processed by our third-party companies. Please review their privacy policy for more details.
