Hey, I’m Sooz!

Susanna Shankar MSc graduation photo

Nice to meet you! I grew up in a small town in Alaska, where the changing climate was always on my mind. As an early adopter of sustainable travel, I have more than 15 years of experience in the industry as a tour guide, intrepid traveler, academic, and writer. I have an MSc in environmental science and deliver approachable content that helps you make more informed travel decisions.

I’m a dual US and Canadian citizen, born and raised in Alaska, but I moved abroad to Munich, Germany, as an adult, and now call Vancouver, Canada, home. When I’m not outside on adventures or engaged in responsible travel, you’ll find me at home drinking whiskey with my cat and partner while trying to reach level 99 in life. Get to know me better.
